Students
Ambassadors
To recruit potential students, to represent our College, and to develop relationships which foster growth and leadership.
Purpose:
The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) Office of Academic Affairs established the CAES ambassador program for student recruitment and public relations in the Fall of 1988. The CAES ambassador organization consists of 15-20 students enrolled in CAES who assist with recruitment and college-related activities to enhance the public and instructional image of the college, its students and its programs.
CAES Ambassadors assist at College and University sponsored events and are available to speak on topics related to agriculture, the environment, or student opportunities, before groups, schools, clubs, assemblies, banquets or similar events. Events, both on campus and off, may include:
- College recognition ceremonies and lectures
- South Campus Tailgate
- Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition
- alumni events
- Georgia National Fair
- Georgia Agribusiness Council Harvest Celebration
- CAES Welcome Back Party
- Tour of Agriscience
- 4/H - FFA Pacesetters Luncheon
- phone-a-thon
- career days
- campus visits with potential students
- speeches
- other events
Events may occur during the week and weekends.
CAES Ambassadors should be articulate and effective public speakers. Ambassadors should present a professional appearance and attitude and fulfill their ambassador responsibilities without jeopardizing their academic standing.
Student recruitment, while representing the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in a professional manner, is our main goal.
