Young Scholars Internship Program
Eligibility & How to Apply
Eligibility
- completed sophomore year and is 16 years of age by June 1
- demonstrated a serious interest in science, math, or technology
- willing to make a commitment to scientific exploration
- submitted application form, and been selected by Young Scholars Committee
Requirements include the completion of at least one high school science course (including a laboratory) and one semester of algebra.
Because of such low numbers of women and minorities considering engineering and science careers, students from these two groups are especially encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Summer internships are open to high school students who have met the eligibility requirements and are willing to make a commitment to a summer science project. Interested students must submit a written letter of application to the program coordinator at the desired work location (Athens, Griffin, or Tifton).
