Students: The Deans' Promise: Internships & Fellowships

Extension Internship

What is the Extension Internship?

The UGA Cooperative Extension is offering internships to college students to work for one semester in a county Extension office. Students will be matched with an agent in the county or region they prefer, if possible. The internship can be completed during any semester during the year. This is a paid internship.

For more information see the Extension Internship Brochure (pdf).

Minimum Requirements:

  • enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a degree program that would qualify the participant for employment as an Extension agent
  • interested in pursuing a career in Extension

Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • get involved in Extension programming
  • experience 4-H, maybe even go to camp!
  • earn college credits—it will be up to the student to work with the internship coordinator in their department to arrange for college credits

Apply:

ATTENTION: Due to the current budget situation, we are currently unable to offer any
internships in spring, 2010. We are hopeful that budget conditions will
improve and that we will be able to offer a few paid internship
opportunities during the summer of 2010.

If you are a student needing to complete an internship as part of a degree
requirement, we will be happy to work with you on an unpaid internship.
Just follow up with our office and we will assist in making those
arrangements.
