Homeowner Best Management Practices for Georgia Urban Landscapes: A Training Manual

This manual is a collection of Best Management Practices (BMPs) for Georgians to use in their landscapes and gardens. These BMPs are designed to minimize nonpoint source pollution of Georgia's waterways. They were developed from unbiased, research-based information and data. Cooperative Extension Agents, Master Gardeners, and others use the manual to train homeowners in adopting and implementing BMPs in their landscapes and gardens.

Information is organized into sections on Landscape Design, Landscape Ornamentals, Turfgrass Installation and Maintenance, Vegetable Gardening, Composting and Mulching, and Pest Management. BMPs are listed under each section with background information and relevant resources and citations.

The manual was produced by The Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture and the Cooperative Extension Service with funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

To purchase a copy, contact to the Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture, 1109 Experiment St., Griffin, GA 30223-1797.
