Tax Deductible Charitable Giving
The Griffin Campus has over the years established several University of Georgia fund accounts that campus employees, retirees and friends may wish to consider contributing to as a way of giving and helping others. Listed below are those tax-deductible charitable fund accounts for your consideration:
CAES Student Enrichment: Funds from this account will be used primarily to
help assist and support students enrolled in The University of Georgia, College
of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, degree programs on the Griffin Campus.
Support will include, but not be limited to, in classroom and out of classroom
experiences and instruction, hands on experiences, and recognition and leadership
awards.
Griffin
Campus: This fund was established in 1983 for
any purpose that the Assistant Dean of the Griffin Campus or his designee deem
appropriate for the general benefit of the campus. The funds historically have
been used for annual employee social gatherings, including the Christmas Breakfast,
the ice cream and watermelon socials, and the Thanksgiving luncheon.
Griffin Campus Staff Award: This fund provides classified
staff awards for exemplary staff support performance. Selection of the recipient
is made by a committee appointed by the Assistant Dean of the Griffin Campus.
There needs to be $750 accumulated and available from the fund before an award
can be made (i.e., $500 award plus state and federal income taxes of approximately
$250).
Woodroof Agricultural Pavilion: This fund provides support to maintain the
Naomi Chapman Woodroof Agricultural Pavilion which is located on the Griffin
Campus and is a venue for workshops, meetings, conferences and social gatherings.
Griffin Campus Young Scholars Program: This fund provides
support for the Griffin Campus Young Scholars Program. High school students selected
for this program participate in research and extension programs in Griffin and
internationally. Support includes travel expenses, student stipends, materials
and supplies, and special program needs for the Young Scholars.
If you would like to make a contribution to one of these funds, please make your check payable to "UGA Foundation" and please specify on the check which of the above funds you would like to receive the donation. If you need assistance, please contact the Assistant Dean's office at 770-228-7263 or email garkin@uga.edu.
