About Us
History of the UGA's Continuing Education Program in Griffin
The continuing education program began modestly in 1997 as a conference and meeting program with the support of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education, the City of Griffin and Spalding County. The Conference and Meeting Program continues today and has expanded over the years in the number of conference and meeting events offered annually.
In the fall of 2003, a noncredit program was launched and currently provides students with many opportunities for professional development and personal enrichment. The program focuses on career development, giving individuals the opportunity to pursue a professional certificate in an area that enhances them professionally. And there are personal enrichment courses offered for the fun of learning new things.
The Office of Continuing Education also offers customized business training (The Continuous Improvement Program) and a community outreach program.
