Certificate Programs
Management Development Program
The Management Development Program is a nationally recognized program consisting of a three-course series revolving around identifying and developing the core leadership and management skills of local government managers. The program curriculum is geared torward local government managers, department managers, supervisors, and non-supervisors who have the potential to rise in their organization as they plan for next generation of managers and leaders.
Certification: for each course completed, certificates are awarded to participants who meet the attendance standard and complete all the required work. Participants who successfully complete all three courses receive the Certificate of Local Government Management awarded by the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government. The continuing education credits earned in this program can be applied toward certain other local government certification programs. All instructors are P.O.S.T. and G.F.S.T.C. certified (as a note to police and fire personnel managers and leaders.)
Savings to Local Governments: The required projects throughout this program ultimately save local governments much more than their investment incurred in sending personnel to in this training.
The Paralegal Studies Certificate Program, consisting of Paralegal Studies I and Paralegal Studies II, helps prepare the student for employment as a paralegal.
