Tifton Campus: Administration: Employee Resources

Job Posting Procedures

Classified Positions

  • If it is a new position, the department completes the paperwork to have the job classified as well as the “Critical Position Personnel Action Request” (CPPAR). Send both to Ann Wiggins in the Tifton Campus Business Office. (If the job is already classified, just complete a CPPAR and send along with copies of the classification paperwork). Ann will get Dr. Bridges’ signature and will forward to Athens for all remaining signatures. (A CPPAR is required for all positions.)

  • Once the job is classified and the CPPAR is signed and returned from Athens, send a copy of it and a “Notification of Job Vacancy” (MSWord document) to Ann for advertising purposes.

  • Ann will post the job at the H/R Web site. Once they post it and issue a “position number,” she will advertise it in the newspaper, around campus and with the local technical schools, colleges and labor departments.

  • We can no longer accept applications at the Tifton Campus; they have to be submitted on-line. Human Resources will issue an Access Code for Ann to be able to enter the posting site and retrieve any applications that have been submitted on-line .

  • She will print these out through the cut-off date and notify the department to come pick them up. At the same time, she will let them know whether it is an under-utilized position and give them the underrepresented form to complete.

  • Once the hiring department makes their hiring decision and the underrepresented form has been approved (if needed), they need to complete all EEO papers and send them to Ann along with the applications/resumes to be filed away.

  • The department needs to have the new employee complete all new employee paperwork and forward it to Athens in the usual manner.
