Right to Know Policy
Definition:
As an employee of the State of Georgia, you have the right to konw about hazardous chemicals in your workplace. To protect these rights, the State Legislature enacted the Georgia Right to Know Law. All employees of the University of Georgia, whether full-time or part-time, permanent or temporary, who have the potential to be exposed to hazardous chemicals must attend the Right to Know training session. It is available on the internet at: http://www.uga.edu/esd/train/rtk/RTKTrain4.html.
Federal employees are introduced to Right to Know policies
during new employee orientation. Supervisors are required
to ensure that all personnel are informed of safety and health
related issues. For questions concerning Right to Know for
Federal Employees at the Tifton, Ga., location, contact: Tamara
M. Snipes, Chemical Hygiene Officer — Phone: 229/387-2344
or Email: tamara@tifton.usda.gov.
