Agriscience and Environmental Systems
Program Objectives
- Offer a unique, cross-disciplinary program to train students
in the most recent developments in agricultural sciences,
such as biotechnology, precision agriculture, integrated
pest management, and computer/digital applications to agricultural
problems.
- Develop skills that will allow graduates to play major
roles in economic development of rural areas in the southeastern
United States.
- Provide a truly interdisciplinary major field of study
within the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
- Provide students with educational opportunities to benefit
from practical experiences that can be provided by the research
and extension environment of the University of Georgia Tifton
Campus, and by the real-life situations available in southern
Georgia.
- Provide the opportunity for students to receive a UGA undergraduate
degree in the southern part of the state of Georgia.
