Tifton Campus: Students: Admissions

Admission Requirements

The University of Georgia is offering degree programs on the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Tifton Campus. To be eligible for admission to UGA Tifton, a student must have at least 60 transferable semester hours and a minimum of a 2.50 GPA.

Please note: Admission to take any courses at UGA Tifton is contingent upon being eligible for transfer admission and being admitted to the specific program to begin work on the upper level courses in one of the specific majors.

The application for admission and all official college transcripts must be submitted to the UGA Admissions Office by the stated deadline.

Frequently Asked Questions

What degree will students receive?

Students will receive a University of Georgia Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree. Market surveys reveal that employers in agribusiness, production agriculture, agricultural and environmental consulting, research, and outreach are eager to hire graduates with the knowledge and skills you will have after graduating from this program.

What are the entrance requirements?

Students must meet the University of Georgia transfer requirements. While they are subject to change, for academic year 2005-06 these are a 2.5 GPA with 60 or more credits. More information.

How can I apply?

Students should apply to the University of Georgia as a transfer student and choose the Agriscience and Environmental Systems (0061) or Agricultural Education (0026) major in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. What are the transfer deadlines?

Applications are due April 1 for fall semester, September 15 for spring semester, and March 1 for summer semester. More information.

Where will classes be held?

Courses will be taught in classrooms and laboratories on the UGA Tifton campus.

Who will teach the classes?

All courses will be taught by University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences faculty.

How much does it cost?

Visit the UGA Bursar office for payment schedule and fee information.

What about financial assistance?

In addition to assistance available through UGA, students may apply for CAES scholarships. Application forms are due March 1. Application forms and more information is available at University Financial Aid.

What courses should be completed prior to enrollment?

Students should have completed the University System of Georgia core requirements for the AES or AgEd majors. Refer to Years 1 and 2 of the University of Georgia Core Curriculum under AES Degree Requirements or AgEd Degree Requirements.

What about academic advising?

Students will be assigned a UGA faculty member to serve as their academic advisor.

Is there a difference between UGA Tifton and UGA Athens?

The only difference is the location. You will earn a B.S.A. just like other students in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
