  • Conducted international program in heat stress, nutrition, physiology of dairy cows
  • Acquired funding for and led development for Center of Dairy Research at UGA-Tifton
  • Acting department head for Animal and Dairy Science Department for two years
  • Assistant Dean at UGA-Tifton since 2008
  • Acquired $10 million in funding for renovations of the historic Tift and Animal and Dairy Science Buildings
  • Delivered presentations across the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and China
  • Published numerous journals and abstracts


  • Chairman of the Tifton/Tift County Chamber of Commerce
  • Awarded the Friend of the Dairy Industry Award from the Georgia Milk Producers Inc. in 2001
  • Awarded the Block and Bridle Faculty of the Award in 2003
  • Named Most Outstanding Faculty Member by the Dairy Science Club in 2004
  • Presented the Honors Award from the Southern Branch of the American Dairy Science Association in 2013
