Conservation Tillage: Cover Crops
Medium Red Clover
Medium red clover is a short-lived perennial legume; as a matter of fact, the most common perennial legume in the Northeast. It is a very good nitrogen producer (80 lbs/A) and soil conditioner, and also attracts beneficial insects. Red clover does well with and is often planted with a small grain species.
Seed 10-15 lbs/A. Late March-early May or mid-August-early September.
