We are the turfgrass breeding and genetics research program of the University of Georgia on the Griffin Campus conducting research to develop and improve warm-season turfgrass species. This program has state and federal support and is also funded by external grants from the USDA, US Golf Course Superintendents Asociation of America, Georgia Golf Environmental Foundation, and various members of the turf industry. The UGA turfgrass breeding program is interdisciplinary and works closely with scientists from a range of disciplines including stress physiology, weed science, plant pathology, entomology, and molecular genetics.
