Urban Pest Management research conducted on the UGA Griffin Campus is focused primarily on ants, termites, and occasional invaders. The goal of the applied research program is to generate information that enables it to make sound recommendations to pest management professionals and homeowners regarding the use of pesticides and low-impact pest control methods. Research conducted by the program is focused on:

  • the enhancement of use patterns for existing pest control products and technologies,
  • the generation of laboratory- and field-efficacy data on existing, new and emerging pest control products,
  • the generation of data sets to support candidate active ingredients and existing product registrations, and
  • the applied biology and ecology of urban pests.
