Lowndes County Extension Office:
4-H Youth Development
4-H Clubs

School Clubs

Beginning in 5th grade, the Lowndes County 4-H staff serves as a partner in education with Lowndes County and Valdosta City school systems to provide hands-on experiential learning opportunities that follow the Georgia Performance Standards. We work with teachers to offer co-curricular lessons monthly in their classrooms. This is most students' first experience with 4-H.

We currently see students in all of the county elementary schools, J. L. Lomax and Sallas Mahone city schools and Crossroads Baptist.

Teachers assist the students by collaborating with 4-H on informational writing projects required for students and offering them the opportunity to participate in an educational writing and presentation activity called 4-H Project Achievement.
