May 22 ServSafe Manager Certification Training & Exam- Morgan County Extension Join us on Thursday, May 22nd at the Morgan County Extension Office for a one-day ServSafe® Manager Certification course and Exam. Georgia Cooperative Extension provides the nationally recognized and accredited ServSafe® training for foodservice managers from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Upon successful completion of the ServSafe® examination, the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certificate will be issued by the NRAEF and is valid for five years.

May 24 Athens Area Honey Bee Festival The Athens-Area Honey Bee Festival was held for the first time in May of 2024 and welcomed a huge crowd from Athens and beyond! Featured at the festival were honey and craft vendors, family activities, and loads of opportunities to interact with bees and honey! Participants were given the chance to suit up and work the hives, watch a live demonstration of honey-extraction, and enjoy a tasting show of local honeys! Photo booths, games, snacks, plant sales, live music and more were all part of the festivities! Jun 1 - Jul 31 Applications for the 2025 Northwest Georgia Master Naturalist Program are available The Georgia Master Naturalist Program is a hands-on environmental education course that explores habitats and ecosystems in Georgia and human impacts on these environments. This 9 week program consists of weekly field trips with in-depth lectures from regional experts on a wide variety of environmental and ecological topics. Transportation can be arranged for limited number of participants from one of the three host counties. The program dates are every Friday in September and every Thursday in October including a overnight on Oct. 23-24. The program days are from 9:00am to 4:00pm with an hour lunch, not including drive time. Registration is complete once you have completed the online application and paid the fee in full through the Cobb County Extension Office. Space is limited in the class and registration will remain open until July 31 or when we have filled all spaces, whichever occurs first.
