Junior Programs
Club Meetings
Currently there are a select few middle schools that offer the 4-H Club as an afterschool program and allows 6th grade students to join the club meetings as well. The club meets once a month on a designated day between the hours of 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please select your school below for a list of meeting days and times.
- Current plans are being made with middle schools for the new 2011-2012 school year.
Current topics covered during middle school club meetings are: 
- Introduction to 4-H
- The Other Risks: ‘Saying No to Drugs’
- Stress Management
- How to Say No
- College Planning
- Money Management
- Internet Safety
Junior County Council
Junior 4-H’ers are able to participate outside of their school’s 4-H lessons by attending a monthly meeting at our 4-H office in Jonesboro. We meet every second Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. During Junior County Council students are able to meet other Juniors from around the county, participate in other educational lessons, community service, and learn about other opportunities for their age group.

Project Achievement
4-H’ers are encouraged to complete a 4-H project which is also known as an illustrated speech. 7th and 8th graders must complete a portfolio before competition that is related to their chosen category that summarizes a whole year worth of work and prepare an illustrated speech that is a maximum of ten minutes along with poster boards. Junior 4-H’ers will only compete at the district level which is in March at Rock Eagle in Eatonton, GA.

How to Get Started?
- Visit the Georgia 4-H Junior Project Achievement website.
- Select Junior Project List and chose a category that interests you. You can create a topic that is related to your category For example: Project: Archaeology/Topic: Mummies.
- After selecting a topic, think of 5-6 main topics that are most important to help the audience understand your topic.
- Use an outline to help you organize your presentation. The following pages are helpful when planning your project and posters:
- Write out your presentation and put it on index cards.
- Prepare your visual aids (posters, props, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Practice your demonstration: take a deep breath and begin with a smile.
Junior Conference
7th – 8th graders are invited to Junior Conference on November 5-6, 2011 at the Rock Eagle 4-H center in Eatonton, GA. The 2011-2012 Junior Board Members are working on an event that is going to be a blast!

Junior Camp
Junior Camp is for 7th & 8th grade 4-H'ers. In 2012, Clayton County Junior will attend Burton 4-H Center in Hampton, GA. The total cost will be given at a later date. Junior 4-H’ers have a blast at the weeklong overnight camp
