What is 4-H?
4-H is a partner in education, all 5th grade students in Columbia County participate in 4-H experiential learning programs in the classroom. Plus... there's no fee, to be a 4-H member. To find out more about Columbia County 4-H Club, please read our Welcome Letter.

We are off to an exciting year planned for Columbia County 4-H. Please remember to read your newsletters and share them with your parents to keep you up to date on the exciting "4-H Happenings". There are some wonderful events coming up.
News - Community Service Project


Columbia County 4-H Club rocked the house at Junior Conference at Rock Eagle 4-H Center the weekend of November 6th! Our goal this year was to collect over 1,000 pounds.
Well are you ready for this...
Columbia County 4-H collected 1,451 pounds! That means we collected and transported 1,838,417 Pop Tabs to Rock Eagle that weekend.
You all are awesome! Be proud of yourselves knowing that your efforts benefited our local Ronald McDonald House here in Augusta.

Cloverleaf 4-H Trip to Rock Eagle for only $15.00! Sounds too good to be true...by participating in a 4-H educational activity called Project Achievement to be held on December 4 - 5, 2009, that's how you get to Rock Eagle! Cloverleaf PA is for 5th and 6th Graders. Registration opened on September 25th, but some topics are still available. If you would like to join us at Rock Eagle, don't delay in calling the 4-H Office, 706-868-3413. For more information about this fun trip, click on the links below:

Memberships are limited. If you have a club you would like to join, please call the 4-H office today to see if there are slots still open. Registration forms and fees need to be submitted to the 4-H Office only. Please do not bring to the school; your teacher cannot accept any money.

General Info
The Columbia County Extension and 4-H is your University of Georgia connection. There is no fee to join, and there are no uniforms. 4-H Friends activity books and officer pamphlets are given to the students. A small fee may be charged for replacement materials. Other 4-H activities and special interest clubs, (such as ice skate and fun nights, archery, shotgun, rabbit, horse & jr. beekeeping clubs) have fees to cover training and expenses.
Columbia County 4-H programs use the Georgia Performance standards when planning programs for the classroom. Going back a hundred years 4-H believes in its slogan, “Learn by Doing”. This year's curriculum will include Agri-Science, Sowing the Seeds of Character, Healthy Lifestyles, Creative Writing, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills.
