Initial certification to become a certified Private pesticide applicator requires the completion of an interactive, online Private Applicator training program. Administered by the University of Georgia Extension. The online training and testing requires a total time commitment of approximately 4-5 hours and a $25 fee. Applicants MUST be able to read and understand a label.

Apr 26 Right Bite Diabetes Cooking School Right Bite Diabetes Cooking School emphasizing the importance of healthy food preparation in the control of diabetes will be offered by the Monroe County Office of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. Right Bite will begin on April 26 (6AM -8PM) on Zoom. Classes will meet 8 times throughout 2024 (1/26, 2/23, 4/26, 5/31, 6/28, 7/26, 8/30, & 10/25). Registration will be on a class-to-class basis. We recommend you attend a minimum of 3 classes throughout the year. Classes will be led by Amanda Harner. Each session will feature a brief presentation on some aspect of nutrition management of diabetes along with the demonstration and sampling of lower calorie, controlled carbohydrate recipes.
