Learning By Doing
Demonstrations
4-H is learning by doing . . . and one of the best ways for your child to learn is to do a demonstration.
A demonstration shows how while telling how. 4-Hers actually make or do something (step by step) and have a finished product to show and tell by talking and using visuals like charts, drawings or models.
By doing a demonstration your child will learn to gather information about a subject, organize ideas, present information visually and verbally and feel more at ease in front of a group.
Project Achievement is a cornerstone in the DeKalb 4-H Program. From the first Boys Corn Club sharing their crop to today's presentation and portfolios on hundreds of projects, Project Achievement serves to showcase 4-H'ers work and success. To learn more about project achievement, visit the project achievement web page.
The National 4-H National Youth Science Day
4-H National Youth Science Day gives young people nationwide the opportunity to join leading scientists in experimenting with biofuels to discover which ones will lead us to a sustainable future. To learn more about this demonstration project, click below, visit the National 4-H website.
