DeKalb 4-H Participates in Cans Hunger Food Drive 
DeKalb 4-H is joining the Revolution of Responsibility by banding together to fight hunger! The Georgia 4-H Southwest District is facilitating the “One Million Begins with One: Georgia 4-H Cans Hunger”, a statewide community service project that will shake our nation and give a voice to those who have none. This is a new statewide community service project to help stop hunger in our beloved counties! By gathering canned goods for homeless shelters, Christian Kitchens and food banks stationed all over the state, we make valid our “hands to larger service”. Georgia 4-H's goal is 10,000 cans distributed in the state by
4-H State Council in June, 2012. Join our fight and help us show the world what DeKalb
4-H stands for: Head – Heart – Hands – Health! Please help our efforts by contributing. For more information or to participate, see the documents below:

DeKalb 4-H'er Highlighted in Georgia Cloverleaf Annual Report
In the Georgia 4-H Annual Report,
State 4-H Leader and Director, Arch D. Smith highlights the 4-H experiences of Lauren Tricksey, a senior 4-H member at Southwest DeKalb High School and the current DeKalb County 4-H Club President. Lauren Tricksey gave a brief summary of fantastic events, cities that she has visited, and accomplishments that she has achieved throughout her three years as a 4-H member. 2012 Leadership Day & 4-H Day at the Capitol
Over 200 4-H youth, leaders and volunteers (including 4-H'ers from DeKalb County) traveled to the Atlanta Freight Depot on Monday, February 6, 2012 for the 11th Annual Leadership Day and 4-H Day at the Capitol. Leadership Day is an opportunity for 4-H'er and leaders from across Georgia to come together, share best practices, and identify ways to improve leadership efforts in Georgia. Bullying Prevention and Response
The first-ever Federal National Bullying Summit was held in Washington DC, August 11-12, 2010. The summit was sponsored by the Federal Partners in Bullying Prevention Steering Committee, a collaboration between the U.S. Departments of Education, Health and Human Services (HHS), Agriculture, the Interior, and Justice. During the summit, the Federal Partners unveiled the new web resource,BullyingInfo.org, which assembles Federal resources on bullying prevention and response.
