Summer Camps
Georgia 4-H operates five 4-H Centers around the state of Georgia and is responsible for two other land holdings. The total usage of the 4-H facilities in FY 2001 was 95,995 people, of this total 59,180 users participated in an actual 4-H-sponsored event or activity. Many of the other adult user groups are related to University, Extension, Board of Regents and other educational conferences throughout the year.

Fortson, Hampton, GA --Fortson 4-H Center is located in Henry and Clayton Counties, near Atlanta Motor Speedway, in the city of Hampton. There are 77 acres of forest, field, pond, and wetlands just waiting for your kids to explore the wonders of nature and get dirty!
Marine Resources Camp, Jekyll Island, GA -- Come to the coast to rediscover how much fun learning can be. Small group size allows all students to be involved. Students of all abilities can share in the wonder and the drama in an outdoor classroom of ocean, maritime forest, dunes and marsh.

Rock Eagle, Eatonton, GA -- Extend the classroom into Georgia's heartland. Engage students in captivating and diverse habitats of the Piedmont. Explore the lake,streams, and forest of Rock Eagle.

Burton, Tybee Island, GA --The center is surrounded on three sides by beautiful marshland. Examine marine animals, explore the marshes and beaches and discuss current coastal issues. Use the dune machine to teach students how dunes are formed. Get up close to the tidal creek environment on the floating dock. Study human influences on fragile barrier islands.

Wahsega, Dahlonega, GA -- Active, intense classes focus on the earth's environment and mountain ecosystem. Waterfalls, forest, mountains, and streams create a compelling outdoor classroom.
