Cloverleaf (Grades 4, 5, &6)

  • Youth Involvement in community service projects, youth organizations and life skills training have been shown to reduce the teen pregnancy rate by 33% and school drop-out rate by 50% according to the Search Institute.
  • The same studies indicate that youth in 6th-12th grades that are involved in community service are about half as likely to be involved in negative behaviors.

What is Cloverleaf?

Cloverleaf is the name give to our Elementary School 4-Hers.  The Cloverleaf program is for youth ages 9—11. Cloverleaf clubs can be found in 40 DeKalb County Schools, Community Clubs, Parks and Recreation facilities. To learn more about the Cloverleaf Program, view our Quick Fact Sheet.

Cloverleaf 4-H’ers learn basic leadership, citizenship and life skills through:

  • Club Meetings                          
  • Competitions
  • Camps
  • Special Training Events

Cloverleaf Clubs enable their members to get involved and make a difference for themselves and their communities.

District Project Competition
County Project Achievement winners stay overnight at Rock Eagle 4-H Center for district competition.  Portfolio Workshop, (like a resume) 4-H’ers learn to put together a record of your 4-H activity for the year by documenting all of their hard work.

Community Service Projects
Contribute your time and ideas to help others via  the Coat & Blank Drives, Literacy Efforts, Food Drives, Recycling Initiatives.

Summer Camp
Enjoy overnight stays at one of several 4-H Centers. swim, eat, attend workshops, dance, meet up with new and old friends. 

County Council “The Power of Youth!”
Make a difference in what you do and in the lives of others. Create a service project with elected youth board officers and help your community.  District 4-H Officers campaign for district board member positions for leadership opportunities.  Includes informative workshops, assemblies, parties, swimming, sporting events and good food.

4-H Awards Night recognizes DeKalb 4-H’ers commitment and hard work. This is a very special evening supported by volunteers, parents, leaders and elected officials.

Officers Training
Officers from each club are trained by volunteers to use skills to lead their clubs at each meeting.
