4-H Pledge:
I pledge...
My HEAD to clearer thinking,
My HEART to greater loyalty,
My HANDS to larger service,
And my HEALTH to better living,
For my CLUB, my COMMUNITY, my COUNTRY, and my WORLD!!!
So what is 4-H you ask...?
Vision and Mission: 4-H creates a world in which youth and adults learn, grow, and work together as catalysts for positive change! The mission of Georgia 4-H is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. This mission is accomplished, through "hands on" learning experiences, focused on agricultural and environmental issues, agriculture awareness, leadership, communication skills, foods and nutrition, health, energy conservation, and citizenship.
4-H Motto: To make the best better!
Who can join 4-H and how can I join?
Any youth ages 9-19 are eligible to join 4-H. All students in the 5th and 6th grade will join 4-H at the beginning of each school year as part of an in school club held during the school day. Youth in the 7th - 12th grades will also be given the opportunity to join 4-H during open house events each year at each middle and high school. Local 4-H'ers selected for 2010-2011 cast of Georgia's 4-H premier performing arts group Clovers and Company. Clovers & Co. was founded in 1981 to provide an opportunity for youth to share with other groups, associations, and the public the life and vitality evident in 4-H. Each year the group performs all over the state and country at a variety of 4-H and non-4-H events.
