4-H’ers Attend Rock Eagle 4-H Camp

Nine Fannin County 4-H members attended camp at Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia the week of May 31st along with over 800 other 4-H members from across the state. Rock Eagle is the largest 4-H Center in the United States, and the theme for camp is Native American. The camp is divided into three tribes: Cherokee, Muskogee, and Shawnee, with friendly competition between the tribes during the week. Fannin County 4-H’ers were members of the Shawnee Tribe.  During the week they were able to swim, make a leather bracelet, visit the Rock Eagle mound, participate in various games, and enjoy classes about healthy living.

A special thanks goes to Sarah Allen, senior 4-H member, who served as a teen chaperone for the week.  Eddie Ayers, Fannin County Extension Coordinator, also served as a chaperone.

Summer 4-H camp is fun and is just one part of the Fannin County 4-H program.
