Welcome to Fayette County Extension!
Fayette County Extension is a partnership of The University of Georgia, Fayette County Government, Fort Valley State University, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. It exists to serve all the people of Fayette County including Fayetteville, Peachtree City, Tyrone, Brooks, and in between.
Our mission is to extend lifelong learning to Georgia citizens through unbiased, research-based education in agriculture, the environment, communities, youth and families.

Walk Georgia registration opens September 1st! Visit the WALK GA website to register an individual or team. As you log your minutes of physical activity each week, you will virtually travel across the state of Georgia discovering interesting facts about each county you "visit" and learning new ways to improve your health. We hope you will be inspired to join us and others in your county as we get more active and become healthier!
The goals of Walk Georgia are:
- Develop regular physical activity habits
- Get healthier and more physically fit
- Have fun!
Things to See and Learn
Rock and Mineral Collection
Stop by and see our new museum worthy collection of rocks, minerals, and fossils! They are labeled by name with fun facts included for some!
Coming soon! Live Plant Ecosystem Displays!
Hickory Horned Devils
These fierce looking caterpillars are actually harmless and will transform into a beautiful Regal Moth. The caterpillars go through 5 instars, or stages, and change from brown to green. Ours have pupated, so hopefully they will hatch into the adult form this spring!
Have an odd insect, bug, or caterpillar in your backyard?
Bring it to the Extension Office to identify!
