Mar 28 Backyard Gardening - Soil Health Soil is the basis of everything that we grow, no matter what it is. Interested in learning about soil health and what you can do to make sure your soil is healthy? Join us for this program where we will have hands on experiences to learn! We will talk about reading soil test results, and you will get a voucher for one soil sample with your attendance! (The voucher will only be redeemable at the Rockdale County Extension Office). The program will be held on March 28, 2024, from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM at the Rockdale County Extension Office located at 1127 West Ave SW, Conyers, GA 30012. We hope to see you there!

Apr 4 Environmental Education Day at Wahsega 4-H youth and Master Naturalist Extension volunteers are invited to join the Forsyth County Extension staff for an exciting day of environmental education! On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the 4-H staff will travel to Camp Wahsega, 77 Cloverleaf Trl, Dahlonega, GA 30533, to learn about herpetology and stream ecology. Transportation for the event is available, departing from our 5110 Piney Grove Road office.

Apr 5 2024 Georgia Master Naturalist Program The Georgia Master Naturalist Program is an adult environmental education course developed by UGA Extension and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources for people interested in exploring the habitats, ecosystems and the natural environments of our state. The Program is a combination of lectures and hands-on field studies taught by UGA faculty and field experts. Each year's program is unique and field trips and topics are subject to change. Previous Athens Area Master Naturalist programs included trips to Thompson Mill Arboretum in Braselton, GA and Rock and Shoals Granite Outcrop. Georgia Master Naturalist Program graduates are invited to the annual ANREP conference. We are currently accepting applications for the 2024 Master Naturalist course! The course will begin in April of 2024 and will be held on Fridays for nine consecutive weeks.
