  • Jun 6 - Jul 31 Applications for the 2025 Northwest Georgia Master Naturalist Program are available The Georgia Master Naturalist Program is a hands-on environmental education course that explores habitats and ecosystems in Georgia and human impacts on these environments. This 9 week program consists of weekly field trips with in-depth lectures from regional experts on a wide variety of environmental and ecological topics. Transportation can be arranged for limited number of participants from one of the three host counties. The program dates are every Friday in September and every Thursday in October including a overnight on Oct. 23-24. The program days are from 9:00am to 4:00pm with an hour lunch, not including drive time. Registration is complete once you have completed the online application and paid the fee in full through the Cobb County Extension Office. Space is limited in the class and registration will remain open until August 20 or when we have filled all spaces, whichever occurs first.

  • Aug 4 Diabetes Cooking School Are you 55 years or older and living with diabetes, or know someone who is? Learn the skills to eat healthy, to manage your diabetes, or to cook and plan meals for someone you care for who has diabetes! This session will discuss sweeteners and their effects on blood sugar. Includes recipe demonstration and tasting! The program will be offered free of cost, but registration is required. Each attendee should register separately.
