Cloverleaf 4-H'ers Compete in Project Achievement

On Saturday, January 28, 2012, fifth and sixth graders met at Georgia Highlands College in Rome to present demonstrations, give speeches and perform in their respective grade level for a chance to bring home a blue ribbon, red or white ribbon. These students were both public and home schooled youth from the surrounding area. A total of 402 5th graders and 122 6th graders competed. Gordon County 4-H'ers did an outstanding job and earned both county and individual awards. There was a combined total of fifty-eight youth which entitled Gordon County to receive an Outstanding Participation plaque. In addition, we more than doubled last year's county participation and earned a Largest Percentage Increase of Participants plaque. Congratulations to all participants on a job well done! We are proud of each and every one of you!

Georgia 4-H Cans Hunger!!

Packaged Foods

Georgia 4-H is joining the Revolution of Responsibility and is banding together to fight hunger - in our hometowns!! The Georgia 4-H Southwest District is facilitating "One Million Begins with One: Georgia 4-H Cans Hunger," a statewide community service project that will shake our nation and give a voice to those who have none.

Join our fight and help us show the world what Georgia 4-H stands for and that we are the movers and shakers of tomorrow! We ARE Georgia 4-H!!

Any canned and/or non-perishable items collected for Gordon County 4-H will remain in Gordon County and benefit local residents. For additional information on how you can become a part of the Revolution of Responsibility, contact Becky Pass or Kurt Sutherland at 706-629-8685.

Continue to Save Tabs!

Save your pop tabs from aluminum cans and turn them in to Ms. Becky or Mr. Kurt when they visit your school for club meetings. They will put your tabs with all the others collected and take them to Jr. Conference at Rock Eagle scheduled in November of 2012. The tabs from Gordon County 4-H will be added to tabs from 4-H clubs all over Georgia and given to a local Ronald McDonald House Charity Chapter. Saving the tabs not only helps others in need, but it is a great way to recycle also!
