Garden Names:
The Roberts Garden is an extensive shade garden, designed and maintained by Jeff Duncan and his team at Duncan’s Landscaping. In the front of the house, the features include a koi pond and greenhouse, a walking trail around the lake, azalea beds, ferns, anise, mahonia and cypress. Under construction at the time of our visit were an infinity pool, koi ponds and waterfalls, with ?a lot of full sun landscaping in the back of the house?. Click here for plant list.
The Dill Garden: This beautiful garden was designed by and is maintained by its owners. The Zoysia lawn is well manicured and the garden is immaculate. Plants include Japanese laceleafs, hydrangeas, perennial beds, shade plants and a range of mature bonsai. The hardscape includes imaginative use of native stone to define levels in the front garden.

The Volman Garden: This is a neat, two story brick house surrounded by attractive homes and yards. In front of the house is a lawn partially encircled by pine islands with a mix of plants. We intend to feature the three year old pond garden with walking trail behind the house. This water garden is a series of terraces gently cascading into a pond. The water feature was designed by Jeff Duncan and the gardens are maintained by the homeowners. Click here for plant list.
The Breckenridge Garden: These owners are long time members of the McDonough Garden Club. Their expertise is evident in the design and maintenance of this large garden which abuts Lake Dow. Their gardens feature extensive use of stone walls and steps, forming terraces which descend to the lake. Plants are many and varied, but include multiple varieties of daylilies, hostas and hydrangeas. There is a water feature with koi. Click here for plant list.
The Williams Garden: This is a Master Gardener’s garden. Beth and her husband have been working in their garden for years. Recent deterioration of their Bermuda lawn, the drought, along with the need to replace old, overgrown plantings have led to a garden renovation which began in the Fall of 2010. This project, designed by Landscape Architect Todd Harvey and maintained by the owners, is still underway. Zoysia replaced the existing lawn. Pine islands were redesigned, planting beds have been installed. ?Final? plantings will occur this Fall/Winter. Featured in the garden will be a variety of Japanese lace leafs, drought resistant perennials, native plantings, hydrangeas, small decorative trees, etc. Obviously, this is a new garden. Proceeds of the tour will benefit the Historic Nolan House and Garden in Heritage Park.
The Nolan House, Circa 1840
A small reflection of Henry County’s history resides in the restored Nolan House, one of the older homes in the county. It is now appropriately set on a knoll in Heritage Village Park and exemplifies the simplicity of days gone by.
The Nolan House garden, designed, constructed and maintained by the Henry County Master Gardeners, features plants cultivated for the beauty and utility during mid-nineteenth century Georgia and is intended for the pleasure and enlightenment of visitors to Heritage Park
