Lowndes County 4-H:
4-H Clubs - Archery Team

The Lowndes 4-H Archery program is designed to teach responsibility, safety, sportsmanship, and attaining goals. The program is open to 4-H members in 5th - 12th grades. Team members meet weekly for practice, travel to various 4-H archery competitions in other counties, and attend the State 4-H Archery Competition in April. An Organizational Meeting for the 2010 Team is slated for Thursday, December 3, 7:00 p.m., at the Lowndes County Civic Center. 2009 STATE COMPETITION!

Team members traveled to Rock Eagle on Friday, April 24, to compete at the State 4-H Archery Competition. For the second consecutive year, Lowndes 4-H'ers walked away with top honors.

In the Senior Division (9th-12th graders), the team comprised of John Crosby, Chase Ford, Andrew Herren, and Conner Purvis won first place and will travel to Grand Isle, Nebraska in June to compete for the National 4-H Archery Title. Conner Purvis also won High Individual shooter and Chase Ford placed third.

In the Junior Division (7th-8th graders), the team comprised of Daniel Hunter, Dustin Johnson, Hunter Parrish, and Zach Ridge claimed third place honors. Dustin Johnson took fourth place in the High Individual competition.

In the Cloverleaf Division (5th-6th graders), the team comprised of Ian Bennett, Shawn Lucas, Nicholas Stagner, and William Rhodes brought home the 2nd place trophy while the team of Ben Bradford, Jodi Bullard and Trevor Ford took the third place trophy.

Congratulations to Head Coach Gary Crosby, Jamie Ford, Dale Cribb, Shane Palmer, team members, and parents and another successful year!

It's On To National Competition for the Senior Team of John Crosby, Chase Ford, Andrew Herren and Conner Purvis!

The Senior Team along with Head Coach Garry Crosby traveled to Grand Isle, Nebraska June 20-29 to compete for the National 4-H Compound Archery Title. The team placed 5th overall at this event! Other placings are as follows:

Chase Ford placed 4th individually in the Field Round and 8 individually overall.
Conner Purvis placed 2nd individually in the 3D Round and 9th individually overall.
The Team placed 2nd in the 3D Round and 5th overall.
