Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments Program (SURE)

The Food, Conservatin and Energy Act of 2008, Pub. L. 110-234, as amended by Pub. L. 110-398 and Pub. L. 111-005 authorizes the SURE Program beginning with the 2008 crop year ending with losses incurred on or before September 30, 2011. SURE is available to eligible producers on:

  1. farms in counties with Secretarial disaster declarations, including contiguous counties, that have incurred crop production losses and/or crop quality losses during crop year;
  2. any farm in which, for the crop year, the actual production on the farm because of disaster-related conditions is 50 percent or less than the normal production of the farm.

Signup for the SURE Program for 2008 crop losses will begin January 4, 2010.

Note: An ending date for the 2008 signup period has not yet been established.

NAP Insurance Sales Closing Dates:

December 1- honey

January 31- all annually planted crops, both spring and fall

December 1- perennial crops, forage crops for hay and grazing and all value loss crops

Additional Program Deadlines:

Now- Inquire and sign up for CRP Continuous Practices such as Riparian Buffers

Now- Emergency Conservation approved applicants-report completed practices to FSA

Now- Crop Disaster Program (CDP) sign up

*NOTE: Producers with crops insured under NAP program should check with their local FSA office, some crops subject to an earlier reporting date.

 

~New Farm Bill Deadlines~

2009 - 12 NAP Service Fees Increased

$100 to $250 per crop

$300 to $750 per county

$900 to $1,875 per producer for all counties

Sign up deadlines vary by crop and region
