• May 22 ServSafe Manager Certification Training & Exam- Morgan County Extension Join us on Thursday, May 22nd at the Morgan County Extension Office for a one-day ServSafe® Manager Certification course and Exam. Georgia Cooperative Extension provides the nationally recognized and accredited ServSafe® training for foodservice managers from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF). Upon successful completion of the ServSafe® examination, the ServSafe® Food Protection Manager certificate will be issued by the NRAEF and is valid for five years.

• May 22 Peach Salsa- Coweta County Food Preservation Workshop Olivia Handley will be hosting a Peach Salsa workshop that will provide hands on experience making and then processing the jars in a hot water bath. Each participant gets a jar of Salsa to take home along with tools to use in the kitchen. Space is limited. Call the Coweta Extension office to register.

• May 24 Athens Area Honey Bee Festival The Athens-Area Honey Bee Festival was held for the first time in May of 2024 and welcomed a huge crowd from Athens and beyond! Featured at the festival were honey and craft vendors, family activities, and loads of opportunities to interact with bees and honey! Participants were given the chance to suit up and work the hives, watch a live demonstration of honey-extraction, and enjoy a tasting show of local honeys! Photo booths, games, snacks, plant sales, live music and more were all part of the festivities!
