Pesticide Safety, Training and Certification

Training and Certification sprayer

  • Private Pesticide Applicator Certification/Testing is available at our location by appointment - Monday through Friday. Please allow 3 to 4 hours of your time. For an appointment, please call (706) 342-2214.
  • Georgia Competitant Applicator of Pesticide Program (GCAPP) a voluntary training program for pesticide applicators who work for a landscape business, but are not themselves required to have a license.

    The GCAPP program is available at county Extension offices throughout the state. Participants view a PowerPoint lesson and take a 37-question test. Twenty-six correct answers results in the student being awarded a GCAPP certificate that is good for five years. They also gain knowledge that will help them apply pesticides in ways that won’t harm themselves or those around them. For more information

To check how many credit hours you have or need and the due date for your pesticide license renewal you can go to Georgia Pesticide Applicator Licensing and Certification Database website and enter your name.

  • the use of pesticides in a variety of pest management situations including commercial farming, lawn care/landscaping, forestry, public health, right-of-way, etc. 
  • private and commercial pesticide applicators licensing and pesticide contractors. 
  • restricted use pesticide dealers and all pesticides for sale and distribution in Georgia. 
  • licensing wood treatment facilities, inspecting irrigation systems for chemigation pesticide container recycling program and waste pesticide collection program.
