HORTICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP

Application Information

ELIGIBILITY:

Paulding County Master Gardeners Award 2010 Horticulture Scholarship

  • Applicant must be a resident of Paulding County.
  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in (or formally accepted at) an accredited Georgia college, university or trade school, in a degree program and taking at least 12 credits per term.
  • Applicant must display a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Previous student winners of this award may apply for renewal of the scholarship with proof of GPA and program of study. 

VALUE OF THE AWARD:

  • $1000 to be used for tuition and/or fees required for enrollment, books, supplies and/or equipment required for course work in the chosen major at an accredited college, university or technical/vocational school in the state of Georgia.
  • Payment will be made to the student through the college/tech school’s Financial Aide office.
  • Funds must be used by June 1 of the next year after the award is presented.

CRITERIA:

  • Included must be a completed application available on-line through the Paulding County Extension Office, with 3 completed reference forms, appropriate signatures, documentation, and dates.
  • Student must be planning to enroll to study Horticulture, Botany, or Forestry.
  • Student display of Leadership qualities will be considered.
  • The essay on the application will be considered.
  • The Paulding County Master Gardener Association reserves the right not to award this scholarship if no suitable applicant is found.
  • Failure to meet the application deadline will result in the applicant not being considered.
  • A selection committee will consist of members of the Paulding County Master Gardener Association.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION:  5 PM, April 29, 2011
