Testing Services
Soil Samples $9.00 - Soil Sample Instructions from University Soil, Plant, and Water Laboratory. Bring 4 cups of dry soil to the extension office. You will need to fill out the test request form. (i.e. Please be as specific as possible with type of grass, flowers, or vegetables).
Testing includes: pH, P, , Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn, and LR. You may also request separate testing for Boron, Organic Matter, Soluble Salts, Nitrate, or Greenhouse/Nursery Test (Artificial Mixes Only).
Please make checks payable to: Paulding County 4-H . Results will be mailed or emailed to you within two weeks.
Homeowner Well Water Samples (mineral content) $53.00 - Do I need to test my well water? Bring 1 quart of water to the extension office. If your water source is a well, you will need to know the well depth (in feet) and the well casing diameter (in inches).
The test includes: pH, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, A1, B, Cu, Zn, Na, Cd, Ni, Cr, Mo, Nitrate, fluoride, and other minerals that are included in the EPAs list of primary and secondary drinking water standards.
***Testing for lead requires a separate test.***
Pond Water Samples for Liming and Fertilization Recommendations - $18.00
Homeowner Well Water Samples for Bacteria $40- Pick up a bottle with sampling and shipping instructions from the our office-Samples must be delivered via overnight shipping to the UGA Water Testing Lab in Athens.
