Pest Management

Something buggin' you? We provide identification, photos and a diagnostic lab to help trouble shoot your insect, disease, weed and other problems.

Pesticide Licensing

Pesticides are a vital part of most agricultural and forestry operations. Human and environmental safety don't have to be compromised. Let us help you apply pesticides safely.

If you use or supervise the use of any pesticide which is classified for restricted use, you must be CERTIFIED. An applicator must be 18 years of age or older to be certified. The pesticide certification program is carried out jointly by Cooperative Extension and the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA). Your local Extension Agent is responsible for providing training and the GDA is the regulatory authority for licensing and enforcement.

Testing and Diagnostic Services

Would you like to increase your crop yield, grow healthier plants or vegetables, and test the quality of your drinking water, we can help. To submit samples for testing contact the Peach County Cooperative Extension Office (478) 825-6466.

A soil test is the fertility gauge for lawns, shrubs, trees, vegetables, flowers or for whatever you are trying to grow. For details on how to collect a soil sample, contact your local Extension office.

Agriculture and Environmental Services Laboratories (AESL) at the University of Georgia offer testing for soil analysis, plant tissue analysis, water quality, pesticides and hazardous waste, feeds and forages and other special analyses.
