General Info

Welcome to the Quitman County 4-H Web page! 4-H is the world's largest youth organization for young people. Youth ages nine to nineteen may join. 4-H teaches service, leadership, citizenship, and character education as well as providing students with a variety of in-school and out-of-school educational opportunities involving head, heart, hands, and health.

Founded in 1904 to educate rural farm youth, today's 4-H reaches youth from all walks of life helping youth to develop their interests and abilities to their fullest through project work, club work, special activities and events.

4-H is the Youth Education Program of the University of Georgia. It is administered by UGA Cooperative Extension which is part of the UGA College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES). Quitman County is a cooperating partner.

4-H is open to all youth regardless of race, color, sex, handicap, or national origin.

Program Guide

4-H is a youth organization that provides youth ages 9-19 with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities such as summer camps, judging events, community service, County Project Achievement (CPA) and District Project Achievement (DPA).  Go here for more information about the program guide!

Georgia 4-H Centers

The University of Georgia 4-H program has five centers for education located in different areas of the state. Each center offers 4-H Environmental Education and Summer Camp.
