Donations

What if the Randolph County 4-H program earned a donation every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

And if you download the GoodSearch 4H - Randolph County (Cuthbert, GA) toolbar, our cause will earn money every time you shop and search online - even if you forget to go to GoodShop or GoodSearch first! Add the 4H - Randolph County toolbar at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/mode

What is Georgia 4-H?DPA 2011

A world in which youth and adults learn, grow, and work together as catalysts for positive change!

Research confirms that all young people have certain developmental needs. As a program used in and after school to supplement learning, 4-H is uniquely positioned to meet such needs. Nationwide 4-H has embraced training centered on four elements:

  • Belonging
Positive relationships with a caring adult in a safe and inclusive environment
  • Mastery
Engaging in learning by providing the opportunity to succeed
  • Independence
Ensuring that youth see themselves as active participants in the future by encouraging self determination
  • Generosity
Providing opportunities to value and practice service for others

In Randolph County, we strive to develop these elements in our young people through the following ways: learning by doing, leading by example, prevention, education, and more. Currently, our program numbers more than 370 members from 4th to 12th grades, and more than 25 adult volunteers.

Cloverleaf DPA 08 Randolph winnersWe understand that all young people will find ways to meet their basic needs, build skills and values, and use their skills, talents, energies and time in ways that make them feel good and powerful. We’re here to guide and assist them during that process. Youth need to know they are able to influence people and events through decision-making and action. Current research highlights the importance for youth to have opportunities for long-term consistent relationships with adults other than parents. Youth need to feel their lives have meaning and purpose; by participating in 4-H community service and citizenship activities, youth can connect to their neighborhoods and learn to give back to others. In order to develop self-confidence, youth need to feel and believe they are capable and they must experience success at solving problems and meeting challenges.
