Master Gardener Program
The Master Gardener Program assists the Cooperative Extension Service by training Master Gardeners to provide unbiased and up-to-date horticultural information to the community through volunteer service in educational gradening projects and by using applied research and resources of the University of Georgia.
After training, the Master Gardener Intern must complete 50 hours of volunteer service within the first year. To remain active, a Master Gardener must contribute 25 hours community volunteer service each year thereafter. Active Master Gardeners assist with the operational and educational programs of the local County Extension Offices throughout the state.
