Junior Senior Project Achievement Participants

Seven Toombs County senior members in (grades 9 – 12) attended this year’s competition.  Earning first place honors and a trip to State Congress were Brittany Garcia (Physical, Biological and Earth Science) and McKinsey McCoy (Computers).   Receiving second place was Meghan Hadley (Dog Care and Training).  Alex Dismuke (Environmental Science) placed third in her project area.  Other senior competitors included Risa Childs (Food Fare), Micaela Long (Arts and Crafts) and Lauren Mayes (Health).

Thirteen junior members (grades 7-8) attended. Six students received first place.  They included Katlyn Collins (Better Breakfast), Katie Denmark (Dairy Foods), Emily Earls (Entomology), Katie Earls (Physical, Biological and Earth Science), Heather Osborne (Human Development) and Jacob Rowland (Pizza).  Receiving second place was April Bargeron (Photography) and Dayo Waller (Workforce Preparation).  Third place participants included Kaitlyn Croft (Food Fare), Amber Mosley (Outdoor Recreation) and Chris Mayes (Power & Energy).   Jacob Stallings (Safety) and Catllin Scott (Performing Arts) also attended. 

Extension staff members accompanying the group included: Cheryl Poppell, County Extension Coordinator; Jason Edenfield, County Extension Agent and Program Assistants Lesli Garrett and Amanda Dotson.  Volunteer Leaders Christopher Earls and Shirley Earls also attended the event.
