Troup County 4-H Youth Development:
Judging Teams

Forestry Judging

Participants learn compass and pacing, how to estimate tree volume, and how to identify trees, insects and diseases that affect trees. Open to anyone 9 years old to 12th grade. Practices begin in June and the District competition is held in September.

2010 Forestry Judging Team

Seven Troup County 4-H'ers attended District Forestry Judging in Rockdale County on Tuesday, September 7. Participants competed in Tree ID, Insect and Disease ID, Pacing, and Tree Volume Estimation. The Troup County Team place 3rd overall with two participants coming in 5th and 12th place individually!
