Troup County 4-H Youth Development:
Activities

SAFE Programs

Project SAFE (Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education) is a life skills program that teaches character and personal growth as well as safe and responsible use of firearms. The program promotes high standards of safety, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior.

4-H offers programs in BB, Archery, .22 Rimfire, Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Modified Trap, and Trap and Skeet. Troup County 4-H currently offers a BB Team and is seeking volunteers to lead an archery and Shotgun team. Please contact the Extension Office if you are interested.

Georgia 4-H SAFE Programs

 

4-H BB Team

(9 years-8th grade) 4-H Shooting Sports

Participants will learn safe and proper firearm use and how to shoot from four postitions. Matches follow Georgia 4-H S.A.F.E. Program Guidelines and NRA 5m BB Rules. Members are not required to have their own gun but it is strongly encouraged.

Practices will be held each Tuesday from September 27 until November 22 unless otherwise stated. Practices will resume January 10 and continue through April 10. Practices will be at the Agriculture Building on Vulcan Rd from 5:30-7:00 pm.

District Qualifying Match will be held in March.

State Match will be held April 13-14.

Membership fee is $60.
