NATIVE PLANTS BLOOMING TIMELINE

Mickey P. Cummings

Many people are making plans on traveling to the North Georgia Mountains to view various native plants while in bloom. Over the next couple of months you can visit the Georgia Cooperative Extension Union County web site to get a look at and find a description of the native plants that are presently blooming in the Union County area. The web site will be updated each week and will list the species of plant in bloom during the week in question. If you have questions concerning various plants please email Mickey P. Cummings at coosa@uga.edu.

Please remember that native plants are for viewing and not harvesting. Please enjoy them but, remember that other people enjoy them as well. Please refrain from digging wild plants. The digging of wild plants is unethical and many times illegal.
