What is the 4-H S.A.F.E. Rifle Program?
The 4-H S.A.F.E. Rifle Program is a Georgia 4-H Project S.A.F.E sport. Project S.A.F.E. stands for Shooting Awareness, Fun and Education.
What will 4-H B.B. gun participants learn?
During meeting times participants will learn the fundamentals of shooting and work on the skills needed to do well in the shooting sport. Participants will also learn the importance of safety in the shooting sport. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in the State B.B. Gun Match in the Spring as well as other matches throughout the year.
Who can participate?
Any youth, in 5th - 8th grade may join the B.B. Gun Team.
Where does the Washington County 4-H B.B. Gun Team meet?
The Washington County 4-H B.B. Gun Team meets twice a month – every other Sunday afternoon between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Washington County Agricultural Center on Grady Mertz Road in Tennille, Georgia.
How much does it cost?
There is no charge for membership. Optional activities may have a nominal charge.
What about parents?
Parents are an important part of the 4-H B.B. Gun Team activities and are always welcome. We also strongly encourage parents to consider becoming a 4-H Volunteer.

2011-2012 Practice Schedule
The Washington County 4-H B.B. Gun Team is getting ready for the State Match at Rock Eagle next April. Practice is every other Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Agricultural Center in Tennille.
Coaches Scott Moore, Randy Boyd & Gregory Morris have planned an awesome year for our 4-H B.B. Gun Team. If you are interested in this shooting sport come and join us. You do not need your own equipment. Equipment is provided. If you have any questions please call the Washington County 4-H Office at (478) 552-2011.

Volunteer Information
Information for the 2011-2012 trainings for S.A.F.E. Coaches have been posted online at: www.georgia4h.org/safe/coaches.htm Online registration for each event will open 4-5 weeks before each training session. Adult leaders interested in attending the training must register through the county Extension office. The dates for this year’s events are:
- October 21-23, 2011
- December 2-4, 2011
- February 24-26, 2012
