Scholarship Information

  • Holly B. Alley Scholarship – Offered in memory of Holly B. Alley, former Nutrition Specialist for the Georgia Cooperative Extension Service, this $500 scholarship is presented at the Georgia Nutrition Council Annual Conference. It is designed to recognize students who are committed to a career which would contribute to the health and well-being of individuals and communities, applicants must be rising juniors, seniors, or graduate students in good academic standing at their college or university in Georgia and must be a Georgia Nutrition Council member.   • Rita Waters Scholarship – Offered in memory of Rita Waters, former Georgia Nutritionist, this $500 scholarship is presented at the Georgia Nutrition Council Annual Conference. It is designed to recognize Food, Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food Technology. Applicants must be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student in good academic standing at their college or university in Georgia and must be a member of the Georgia Nutrition Council.   • Research Competition – The Georgia Nutrition Council sponsors a Student Research Competition at the annual conference. Designed to encourage interest in nutrition and food science research among undergraduate and graduate students in Georgia, the competition provides monetary awards for first, second, and third place. Eligibility criteria include senior level undergraduate or graduate student standing in a Georgia-based Nutrition, Dietetics, or Food Science program, approval of the student’s faculty advisor, as well as membership in the Georgia Nutrition Council. Selection of the award is based upon the quality and presentation of the data in both an oral and poster format.
