Develops educational programs and utilize technology transfer methods to deliver peanut production information statewide. Plus conducts applied research program on peanut management and economically competitive production systems. Dr. Glen Harris Tifton-Agronomist-Soils and Fertilizer, 96% Extension, 4% Teaching.

Major educational responsibilities include 1) basic soil fertility (including all aspects of liming and fertilization), 2) use of animal waste and other agricultural, municipal and industrial by-products as fertilizers, lime and soil amendments, and 3) conservation-tillage. His primary focus is cotton and peanuts but is also a resource for all other crops.

His major responsibility is to provide educational programs on weed management in these peanuts, corn, grain sorghum and soybeans. Plus conducts an applied research program that emphasizes the safe and cost-effective use of herbicides.
