CAES Intranet for Faculty & Staff

Highlights:

Information from Dean Angle

Photo of J. Scott Angle2010 Budget -
The budget outlook remains uncertain. There is some optimism that we have moved past "budget cutting" and are in the early stages of recovery. However, there is no promise that we won't see additional cuts this year — this all depends upon the speed of the state economy. Until such time that we are comfortable that we will not have additional cuts, I urge everyone to continue to spend conservatively. My office will approve only the most critical needs until the final budget is crystal clear.

Ongoing migration to eLearning Commons

eLearning CommonsAugust 11, 2009 — Please note that this is the final semester that WebCT will be available as a course management option. To help you adjust to UGA's new course management system eLearning Commons (eLC), a series of workshops has been scheduled. Be aware that completion of the Quick Start workshop is a prerequisite for attending other workshops in the series. A list of workshop dates/times can be found by clicking the "Workshops" link at the top right corner of the eLC homepage located at http://elc.uga.edu/.  Faculty may also find help by clicking the "Faculty Help" tab on this page.

To help facilitate communication, we also encourage you to let your students know which course management system you plan to use prior to the start of classes, and we've made posters available for downloading and printing to help you get the word out within your divisions. You may access those posters by visiting http://elc.uga.edu/posters/.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please email elc@uga.edu or you may contact Sherry Clouser at the Center for Teaching and Learning at sac@uga.edu.
