Georgia 4-H: 4-H is Set for the Future

Celebrating its second century of existence, Georgia 4-H is hard at work getting "Set for the Future" of the state's youth. Close to 200,000 young people are in 4-H for the work, competition, record keeping and community service. And they love every minute of it.

Georgia 4-H'ers have found just what they're looking for in clubs in every county in Georgia. These clubs have activities for just about everyone ages nine and up. Youth participate in meetings, competitions, camps and special events. Adults can volunteer to help these students as they learn more about themselves, their world and how they affect each other.

4-H is the youth education component of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. County Extension agents and program assistants in every county lead the 4-H program. For more information, call your local Extension office at 1-800-ASK-UGA1.

Georgia 4-H needs you

Remember all the fun you and your friends had as 4-H'ers? As we celebrate 4-H Week on Oct. 7-13 and get Set for the Future, you can be part of the excitement again as a 4-H adult volunteer in your community.

Local 4-H clubs rely on adult leaders to help serve the young people in their communities. Adult volunteers help 4-H'ers prepare for competitions, attend camps and plan activities. Your leadership can help a 4-H'er grow into an adult who can make sound decisions, communicate effectively and be confident.

Help celebrate Georgia 4-H’s dynamic future. Become an adult volunteer by contacting your county Extension office at 1-800-ASK-UGA1.
